Panama City Beach Public Library
The City of Panama City Beach has announced that the new library is planned to be located on the front of the Lyndell Lane Senior Center property.
Sherry Swartout and Lily Oatfield are on the City Library committee.  The City has received a $500,000 grant for construction of a new library for Panama City  Beach.  A requirement of the grant is that the City have in hand a signed construction contract no later than February 1, 2009.  The final  cost is estimated at around $2,000,000.  In addition to the grant the City expects to derive $700,000 from impact fees.  That leaves the committee with the task of raising another $800,000.  This will require the support of our citizens making donations and helping with fund raising events.  Preliminary building plans and brochures are placed in the three buildings on the Lyndell Lane complex.  If you desire other information you may contact Lily Oatfield or Sherry Swartout.
